On March 19, the USAID/MujerProspera: Advancing Gender Equality in Northern Central America event celebrated the innovative solutions and impact of nine organizations that have been working to advance gender equality in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

On International Women’s Day, USAID recognizes the fundamental truth that advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls is essential to driving progress across every issue we care about, from reducing poverty to combating disease to strengthening democracy.

By embracing new and inclusive partnerships and pioneering innovative solutions, USAID helped the United States demonstrate how our shared values can advance our collective security and prosperity.

USAID maintains its unwavering commitment to uplift equal rights, opportunities, and benefits for women by addressing the substantial challenges hindering women's economic security globally.

USAID and its partners are dedicated to closing the gender digital divide and empowering women in communities that are often left behind. 

The Policy guides USAID’s commitment to advancing LGBTQI+ Inclusive Development and the human rights of LGBTQI+ people as part of a coordinated, whole-of-U.S. government effort with our partners on the ground.

While the United States continues to provide aid to the Afghan people where it is possible to do so effectively and safely, Power and Endres discussed how they promote the full participation of women in humanitarian and development assistance. 

The programs would work to improve livelihoods, incomes, and resiliency – especially among rural youth and women.
