While the United States continues to provide aid to the Afghan people where it is possible to do so effectively and safely, Power and Endres discussed how they promote the full participation of women in humanitarian and development assistance. 

The programs would work to improve livelihoods, incomes, and resiliency – especially among rural youth and women. 

GROW aligns with USAID’s goal to double our investments in gender equality by 2023 and builds on the Agency’s recently updated Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Policy.

USAID reiterates its commitment to accelerate progress toward gender equality around the world, recognizing that doing so will improve the overall quality of life for all people throughout their lives.
