Gender Equality at USAID

USAID recognizes the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment not only in international development but also among the Agency's own staff. In support of a workplace that “walks the talk” on gender equality, the Agency has policies and initiatives in place and several sources of support. These include: 

  • A new strategy and leadership on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility  
  • Employee resources groups that enable coordination and peer support  
  • A way to report, prevent, and respond to sexual misconduct
