Guide for Strengthening Gender Equality and Inclusiveness in Teaching and Learning Materials

Read this document that provides guidance on how to develop and evaluate materials that are free of bias and that promote equality and inclusiveness of all marginalized, disadvantaged, and underrepresented groups.

Description

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) shares the growing international concern for promoting educational experiences that are fair and respectful to all children, including children who are marginalized (e.g., due to sex, disability, racial or ethnic status) and children who are in conflict situations.

As the literature shows, much work still needs to be conducted to improve the implementation of equitable and inclusive teaching and learning materials. The guide attempts to advance the global efforts toward greater gender equality and inclusiveness in education.
