Addressing GBV through Energy and Infrastructure Programs

Understand the need for energy and infrastructure programming to address gender-based violence.

Description

This document describes the need for USAID's energy and infrastructure programs to address gender-based violence (GBV) and strategies and examples to accomplish this. Energy and infrastructure programs can and should address the needs of an increasingly urbanized world while also recognizing the risks and opportunities that come with it, such as the need to decrease gender-based violence when crafting climate, energy, and infrastructure solutions. This document is part of the Foundational Elements for Gender-Based Violence Programming in Development and USAID’s Collective Action to Reduce Gender-Based Violence (CARE-GBV).
